Aging Skin Care Treatment:
Anti
Aging Skin care treatments, often
includes vitamin and mineral supplements.
Most anti-aging skin care products
aim to provide nutrients to skin cells.
Anti Aging
Vitamins
often includes vitamin and mineral
supplements, and skin care products
that contain vitamins and minerals,
because of the evidence that these
things help slow aging. Many of the
so-called anti aging vitamins are
antioxidants.
Antioxidants remove
free radicals, byproducts of metabolism
that damage cells and contribute to
aging and disease. Free radicals are
always being produced in our bodies,
so a continuous supply of antioxidants
is needed to prevent cell damage.
Some foods are being identified as
potent antioxidants: blueberries and
chocolate are two examples.
Vitamins
and minerals included in the antioxidant
group include:
- Vitamin
A
-
Vitamin B-6
-
Vitamin B-12
- Vitamin
C
-
Vitamin E
-
Selenium.
It's
important to note that Vitamin A actually
makes the skin more sensitive to sunlight,
so this vitamin should only be used
in combination with sunscreen in an
anti aging treatment.
Vitamins C and E, on the other hand,
have some ability to block harmful
sunlight and can be considered topical
anti aging vitamins on this basis
alone (but don't use them instead
of sunscreen: their sun blocking properties
are no substitute for a good sunscreen
or sunblock.)
About Anti Aging Skin Care Products
Signs of aging almost always appear
first in the skin: the skin is the most
visible part of a human being, and it
is also the part that endures the most
direct damage from the elements - sun,
wind, dryness, extreme cold - and from
toxins in the environment. Damage
to the skin builds up over time, eventually
leading to the need for an anti aging
skin care product. As we age, our
skin cells change. Production of the
proteins collagen and elastin is affected,
leading to wrinkles in the skin. Melanin,
the pigment that gives skin its color,
becomes unevenly distributed causing
freckles and age spots; oil and sweat
glands are lost, leaving the skin
dry and thin. Anti aging skin care
products aim to restore diminishing
moisture, fat, and elasticity to the
skin, or prevent the damage from occurring
in the first place.
Virtually
any product that protects or supports
the health of the skin could be considered
an anti aging skin care product -
the result of skin damage is older
looking skin. Anti aging skin care
includes behavioral things as well,
such as not smoking, protecting your
skin from the harmful rays of the
sun, and preventing skin from drying
out. Experts recommend avoiding tanning
salons, drinking lots of water, applying
a good quality sunscreen when you
are outside in the sun, and using
good quality anti aging skin care
products.
Most
anti aging skin care products aim
to provide nutrients to skin cells,
thus allowing them to heal after there's
been damage, and replacing some of
the moisture and fat that have been
lost. Many of them include a sunscreen
to protect the skin from further sun
damage. Though they can prevent some
damage to the skin, they can't reverse
it entirely - once you begin to use
an anti aging skin care product, you
will have to continue using it, in
conjunction with a good anti aging
skin care routine, if you want to
maintain a more youthful appearance.
